Sports

It’s not just about playing games- NPCAT Sport is far more than that.

Competition is an important element of all sport but we know that it’s not all about coming first.

We understand the far-reaching impact that participating in sport can have on the wellbeing and development of the whole child.

Benefits include increasing confidence and mental and physical health, improving academic achievement and, ultimately, bringing about better life outcomes.

That’s why we’re working closely with the Youth Sports Trust’s programme to help multi-academy trusts embed PE, school sport and physical activity as the main driver towards delivering wider health and wellbeing outcomes.

As a trust, our five guiding principles are:

  1. To promote health, wellbeing and personal development through physical education.
  2. To drive continual, whole-school improvement and an ethos of success.
  3. To be a centre of excellence working with schools to improve outcomes for all pupils.
  4. To work with wider education, health and sport services to tackle health inequalities and promote social mobility.
  5. To contribute to the health and wellbeing and personal development of young people at local, regional and national level.
