The NPCAT Sport Trust Mark is an award that recognises the quality of Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA) within our schools. The aim of the award is to celebrate and profile the subject within our Trust and promote the outstanding work of our teachers, coaches and pupils. There are currently four grading levels Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and for this year we will be adding a new Diamond Award.

The NPCAT Sport Trust Mark is a robust process that involves continuous monitoring of school performance against a number of key indicators. The Primary Strategic Lead for PE and Sport and Primary PE Lead Practitioners will support schools through a three-step approach. This review, reflect and reward model will enable schools to benchmark their standards against set criteria.

The award recognises and celebrates outstanding practice designed to raise the profile of PESSPA in our schools and local communities. Our aim is to ensure we have sustained improvements against all key indicators. At the heart of our NPCAT Sport Trust Mark is supporting all schools in their commitment to provide:
 • High quality teaching and learning;
 • Outstanding pupil outcomes;
 • Effective leadership and governance;
 • High-quality professional development for staff, enabling sustained and continual improvement;
 • PE, School Sport and Physical Activity that is highly valued and used as a tool for whole school improvement;
 • Opportunities for all pupils to experience a world class extracurricular and school sport programme with clear pathways for all levels of ability.
